Circesteem: For the last year, Maribeth Joy ’00 has been the executive director of CircEsteem: The Chicago Youth Circus, a nonprofit youth circus with a mission of uniting youth from diverse backgrounds and building self-esteem and confidence through the practice of circus arts. She’s been working with CircEsteem for seven years. Joy is a juggler, wire walker, -CircusYoga instructor, photographer, tour manager and mentor. “My juggling was put to good use as a student at Antioch [College],” she said. “I taught juggling for gym credit and spent many a cold winter evening juggling in the halls of Birch teaching everyone and anyone interested. It makes me happy to think that I get to run away with the circus for my job.”
